Is Vlogging For You?

‘College’ is officially over for the summer. I’m so relieved! Though this will be far from a relaxing summer, I’m pretty much free. I’ve been looking forward to the end of school for ages. I have so many ideas for the blog and I can’t wait to bring them to life.

Anyway, to this week’s post. Blogging and vlogging are two ways people can share their interests or brands can promote their products. Blogging is the medium that focuses heavily on the written word and research. Whereas, vlogs are all about visuals. But you guys knew this already. You can’t own any device without knowing about these mediums.

Despite what everyone tries to tell you, blogging is still very much alive and has plenty of room for people. There are a lot of bloggers: novices and experts. Both of these types of bloggers often have vlogs alongside their blogs. Sometimes the blog comes first, sometimes the vlog comes first.Either way, having a blog and vlog is like a circle of traffic. Traffic from your vlog will bring traffic to your blog and vice versa. But on this post, we’re going to focus on the vlog following the blog.

For bloggers who also have a vlog, they often vlog as regularly they blog. Some bloggers have YouTube channels, but they don’t upload videos often. And some bloggers created vlogs and found that they prefer vlogging and their blog is updated less and less. If you’re going to encounter a problem where you feel like you’re going to choose between your blog and vlog, I would think carefully about what platform you want to share content on.

Seeing so many bloggers with YouTube channels, made me think that I’d also be vlogging in the future. But the more I’ve been blogging, the more I see that The Musing Notes on YouTube is unlikely to happen. But never say never. Vlogs can often provide new insight to a blog post that you wouldn’t couldn’t have been able to provide with words.

So the answer to the question. Is Vlogging For You? Do you like visuals? Will you feel confident and comfortable with talking to the camera? Are you willing to do all the work required to blog and vlog at the same time?  If you answered yes to these questions then, vlogging is for you.

You don’t have to have a vlog with your blog. It’s perfect on your own. But if you ever feel like getting the camera out, you know where to go.

Thank you for reading!
